2011 Hyundai Sonata Sets Sales Record for February at St Augustine Dealer

Orange Park Hyundai dealer reports strong sales increases in February for the new editions of the Hyundai Sonata, Tucson and Santa Fe.

 Hyundai as a brand has solidly taken hold in Florida where the Dealerrater.com Hyundai Dealer of the Year, Hyundai of St. Augustine, just announced record sales increases for February. 

The record setting month for Hyundai of St Augustine mirrored and even surpassed the national sales gains of Hyundai Motor Corp which closed out February with impressive sales increases.  Overall, Hyundai Motor Corp reported an 11% increase in February 2010 versus February 2009, while Hyundai of St Augustine reported a staggering 60% increase in new car sales over the same time last year.  Continue reading →

FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif. — Hyundai Motor Co. of Korea said Tuesday that its U.S. sales rose 11 percent in February, as storms in the eastern and central parts of the country kept many customers at home.

BY THE NUMBERS: Sales rose to 34,004 from 30,621 last year. So far this year, sales are up 17 percent to 64,507 from 55,133.

TOP SELLERS: The Elantra small car, with 7,966 sold, and the Santa Fe crossover SUV, with 7,964 sold. Sales of the Sonata midsize sedan jumped to 7,506 from 4,743, and sales of the Tuscon compact SUV more than doubled to 2,741.

The third generation of Kia Sportage compact SUV has been unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show. The 2011 Kia Sportage CUV that is staged at the Kia stand now carries bigger dimensions than before. That translates into 90 mm longer, 15 mm wider and 60 mm taller in comparison to the second-generation Sportage first released in 2004. Hyundai Kia Automotive Group ranked 4th in U.S. consumer review

SEOUL, March 7 (Yonhap) — Hyundai Kia Automotive Group, the parent of Hyundai Motor Co. and Kia Motors Corp., ranked fourth in a U.S. consumer review, topping Mercedes-Benz and BMW, a U.S. magazine showed Sunday.

   Consumer Reports, a monthly published by the U.S. Consumers Union, in its cover story titled “Top 2010 cars,” gave Hyundai Kia Automotive Group 73 points out of 100 to move it up five notches from last year.

   “South Korean carmaker Hyundai, which includes Kia, has shown the most dramatic improvement, jumping to fourth place from ninth last year,” the report, published in the magazine’s April edition, said. Continue reading →

Louis Vuitton Sues Hyundai Over Super Bowl Ad

NEW YORK (Dow Jones)–Louis Vuitton Malletier SA has sued the U.S. division of Hyundai Motor Co. (HYMLY), alleging the auto maker's Super Bowl commercial touting luxury unfairly used images meant to look like the luxury-good maker's trademarked logos.

The French designer of luxury handbags and high-fashion accessories says in a suit filed in U.S. Southern District Court in Manhattan that a basketball in one of Hyundai Motor America's commercials aired during the Super Bowl was made to imitate it's ubiquitous geometric pattern.
